NFL Week 1 Expert Picks

The 2025/26 NFL season Week 1 kicks off on Thursday and our experts are here with their top picks.

The kickoff of the 2025 NFL Season has finally arrived. We’re back with our NFL Expert Picks. The BetQL NFL team have run the numbers and read through all the scouting reports and are ready to share their predictions on the biggest matches of the NFL Week 1.

Dallas Cowboys +260 at Philadelphia Eagles -325

The defending Super Bowl champions will host their divisional rival to kick off the 2025/26 NFL season. Offensive Player of the Year (Saquon Barkley) and Super Bowl MVP (Jalen Hurts) will be looking to lead the Eagles past Dak Prescott and a Cowboy’s team that the Eagles beat by a combined 75-17 in two games last season. The Eagles finished last year’s regular season 14-3, with only Detroit Lions having a better record in the NFC. The Cowboys on the other hand went 7-10 in 2024/25 and failed to make the playoffs. Definitely a tough opener for the Cowboys, but they did pick up five of their seven wins last season on the road.

Kansas City Chiefs - 148 at LA Chargers +124

As part of the NFL International Series, the Chiefs and Rams will head to Arena Corinthians in São Paulo, Brazil. It’s the first of eight international games that will be played this season, and features two of the best teams in not just the AFC West but in the entire conference going head to head Week 1. Andy Reid’s Chiefs will be looking to bounce back from their Super Bowl loss as they start their quest for a tenth consecutive AFC West title. Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers bounced back last season finishing 11-6, but lost both of their games against the Chiefs. Neither team will have the “home field” advantage in this game, but it has to be said that the Chiefs are used to playing in high profile games in “neutral” stadiums.

Pittsburgh Steelers -155 at New York Jets +130

The big news for the Steelers, 10-7 in 2024, was signing Aaron Rodgers in the offseason. The 41 year-old joins an AFC North team that finished 2nd in the division last season but weren’t able to make it out of the Wildcard Playoff Round. He’ll be playing in his 20th NFL Season and starting it off against the team he led last year. The Jets, 5-12 in 2025, finished 3rd in the AFC East last season. They’ve hired new coach Aaron Glenn to try to right the ship and accomplish a winning season for the first time since 2015. With Rodgers gone, look for the Jets to try to improve their running game, they were ranked 32nd last season, and have a strong focus on defence, which is Glenn’s speciality.

Minnesota Vikings -105 at Chicago Bears -115

At 14-3 last season, the Vikings had the second best record in the NFL. Minnesota ranked in the top-10 in passing, points scored and points allowed last year. The Vikings were a force to be reckoned with in the NFC North last year and look to be serious contenders to make the playoffs again this year. The Bears started off 2024 going 4-2, before losing 10 straight and finishing the season 5-12. Ben Johnson will be taking over as head coach in 2025, with hopes of improving on the Bears’ anemic offensive production. They have a tough road ahead of them as the NFC North was one of the toughest divisions in all of football last year.
